Budget Management
Set budgets to control spending and develop healthy financial habits.
Total Budget
Set a monthly total expense budget:
- Go to "Ledger Management" (tap the ledger name at the top of the Home tab)
- Long-press the target ledger → choose "Budget Management"
- Tap "Set Total Budget"
- Enter monthly budget amount
Category Budgets
Set individual budgets for specific categories:

Budget Progress
The home page and budget page display:
- Amount spent
- Remaining budget
- Progress percentage
Budget Alerts
- 80% - Alert when reaching 80% of budget
- 100% - Warning when over budget
Budget Cycle
- Calculated by calendar month by default
- Automatically resets on the 1st of each month by default
- View historical budget performance
✨ Since v3.4.0: the budget period follows the ledger's Month Start Day. Set it to your payday (e.g. the 10th) and budgets run on a "10th → 9th" cycle; the web budget progress uses the same boundaries.
Web Budget Management
Sign in to BeeCount Cloud on the web → avatar menu → Budget page:
- Total / per-category budgets — CRUD parity with mobile, real-time sync.
- Home budget bar — desktop home shows the current month's budget bar; over-budget turns red.
- Historical month switcher — desktop table view makes historical execution easier to scan.
